Mary Bowen on “Being Pilates”

Mary Bowen started taking Pilates classes from Joseph Pilates when she was 29 years old. She had only seen an article in the newspaper where Pilates mentioned that the method was based on the movements of “a child” and “a cat” and although she didn’t have either, she was intrigued enough to try it out. She had chronic bad back problems and could only afford Pilates twice a week. So she took classes with him for 6 1/2 years and now considers herself a living example of BEING Pilates.
